About the Opportunity

We are the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the Programme and Project Partners (PPP). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver £7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services. 

Our Nuclear team provides the front-end design and engineering capability across the PPP portfolio. Being part of the PPP Team offers a unique opportunity to drive change and innovation in engineering, safety, and delivery solutions in one of the most complex industrial sites in the UK if not the world.

The role of the PPP is to help to deliver a programme of nationally significant major infrastructure projects to the Sellafield site as quickly and safely as possible, creating new facilities that allow Sellafield to treat, manage and store waste safely for decades to come. Together, we are helping Sellafield to create a clean and safe environment for future generations.

As a result of an increasing portfolio of projects, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the team in Birchwood, Warrington.

You should also be able to demonstrate the following competencies\:

Experience in the use of Auto desk inventor Planning and co-ordinating engineering and design activities Developing and implementing engineering solutions for complex engineering projects, from concept design proposals through to design for manufacture, the full project life cycle Identifying design, statutory and regulatory requirements, and contributing to risk assessments Producing technical reports, technical specifications and scoping calculations Reviewing technical deliverables, including reports and drawings Presenting engineering solutions to stakeholders and as part of design reviews *
