Senior Mechanical Engineer
Job Description: Senior Mechanical Engineer – Healthcare Projects Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead project teams in designing and documenting mechanical systems for healthcare buildings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of mechanical system design, ensuring alignment with client objectives, budgets, and coordination across disciplines. This role requires staying updated with engineering trends, engaging in professional development, and cultivating positive client relationships. Candidates should possess a strong background in healthcare design, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Technical Design & Quality Control: Lead and execute all mechanical system calculations, layouts, and designs for assigned projects.

- Code Compliance & Best Practices: Maintain and apply current engineering codes and best practices.

- Construction Documentation: Oversee the development of construction documents for new buildings, renovations, and facility additions.

- Construction Administration: Conduct site visits, review shop drawings, and address construction-related queries.

- Cost-Efficiency Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to enhance project cost-efficiency.

- Mentorship & Quality Assurance: Mentor mechanical designers and support the director in quality assurance reviews.

Education & Experience Requirements:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in the engineering field with a strong focus on mechanical systems, particularly in healthcare building systems design.

- Code Knowledge: Proficiency in mechanical, energy, and FGI codes.

- Preferred Experience: Medical gas system design (not required).

Certifications & Licenses:

- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam (required).

- Professional Engineering (PE) license (preferred, not required).

- Valid driver’s license and access to an insured personal vehicle for work purposes.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Microsoft Office, Trane Trace, and Revit.

- Work Authorization: Must have permanent work authorization without sponsorship requirements.

- Attention to Detail: Ability to manage and execute essential duties with a high level of accuracy.

- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

- Organizational Skills: Adept at managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a team-oriented environment.
