Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Mechanical Engineering Project Manager. In this role, you will have constant contact with customers, requiring strong verbal and written communication skills. You will be responsible for visiting sites, visually inspecting them, specifying and sizing equipment, and designing it.
ResponsibilitiesHVAC design and engineeringDrafting and blueprint readingKnowledge of local, national, and state codesEquipment, duct, and piping selectionsCommunicating with inside and outside customers regarding equipment design, installation, and operations of HVAC systems and controls for the design/build, negotiation, add on, and replacement marketsSizing of heating and cooling loads for selection of equipment and distribution systemsEstimating and pricing of equipment, materials, labor, and subcontractorsDrafting CAD for designs of equipment, duct, and pipe layoutWorking with registered engineers and inspectors for design approvalsManaging detailed office procedures to ensure proper flow from system design through purchasing, installation, pricing, and job costingCollaborating with salespeople on installation projects involving system design, equipment selection, heat loads, energy analysis, CAD, creating job folders, ordering, expediting, and checking in on equipmentCoordinating with the Operation Manager, installation crew, and subcontractors to ensure project progressAnswering questions, providing PO numbers to installers, calling for inspections, and overseeing the complete project through the final OEM packetPresenting proposals when neededEssential SkillsMechanical engineeringMechanical designProject managementHVAC designHydronicsSteam equipmentBoilersLoad calculationBlueprint readingDraftingCADAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s or Associates degree in HVAC/R EngineeringEight or more years of experience in commercial/industrial HVAC designEight or more years of project estimating and project management experienceExperience working/designing Steam Rooms, Boilers, Hydronics, Load Calculations, Refrigeration Units, HVAC, Pumps, Compressors, and FansExperience with Auto CAD or similar design software is a plusWork Environment
The schedule can be flexible with the possibility of one remote day per week. The job requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, operate motorized vehicles, and walk for extended periods. There may be exposure to potentially harmful chemicals or materials, with proper PPDs provided. The role involves hearing and speaking to exchange information, kneeling or crouching to accomplish tasks, and seeing for computer data entry. English proficiency in speaking and writing is required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37.65 - $46.55
