System One is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support various Engineering and Design Centers and Projects throughout the United States. The mechanical engineer will be responsible for routine engineering and design tasks of the assigned projects. Project requirement is power, but experience in other sectors such as Petrochemical, Chemical, Refining and LNG.
 
Senior Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities: Serve as a Mechanical Lead or Mechanical Technical Lead on Power or Industrial project. Provide strong leadership to drive mechanical technical design and project coordination. Manage Project Schedules and Budgets as well as provide weekly reports to communicate project status, issues, and needs. Prepare and maintain resource plans. Prepare equipment inquiry/RFQ packages. Perform equipment technical bid evaluations and prepare recommendations. Review equipment vendor documents for compliance to project specifications and industry standards. Develop job notes and technical scopes of work. Perform field walk downs to collect information required to complete work. Prepare man-hour estimates for proposals. Attend Client, Vendor, and Internal Team meetings. Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review, to implement operating procedures, and resolve system malfunctions. Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Provide specific to discipline technical expertise to the degree of preparing and providing training for other personnel; both within the company and for the customer. May supervise, coordinate, and review work of a small staff of engineers or technicians on assigned work. As a Licensed Professional Engineer, seals and signs all documentation produced by own work. May also seal and sign work done by engineers under direct supervision. 
Senior Mechanical Engineer Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, industrial, chemical or petroleum engineering discipline from an accredited engineering program. 10+ years of experience working as an engineer in the Power, Industrial Construction/Services Industry, EPC, and LNG sector. PE in Texas or get reciprocity in Texas Experience leading small (2 to 3 engineers/designers) teams. Strong background in heat exchangers, pumps, ASME pressure vessels, and ASME piping code Experience in the specification of fixed and rotating equipment Knowledge of the ASME Codes for pressure vessels and piping systems Knowledge and familiarity with API Standards and Recommended Practices applicable to the specification of refinery fixed and rotating equipment Thermal utility and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water)
Cogen or combined heat and power systems Heat pump/heat recovery chillers Highly motivated self-starter with ability to work in an interactive and open team environment. Must be organized, self-directed, able to prioritize and multi-task, work in a team environment and take direction from others. Strong desire to learn and work on a variety of tasks within multiple industries.
