We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to generate new and revised product ideas through collaboration with various departments. This role involves identifying product requirements, creating and implementing project plans, and analyzing product concepts to ensure they meet necessary criteria. You will be responsible for developing detailed product designs and verifying them through testing and evaluation. Additionally, you will provide technical support and partner with other departments to address supply chain, quality, and manufacturing feasibility issues.
Responsibilities
+ Generate new and revised product ideas or applications through cooperation with Product Management, Sales, Manufacturing Engineering, and Marketing.
+ Assist Product Management, Sales, and Marketing in identifying applicable product requirements based on market, engineering, and/or customer requirements.
+ Create and implement project plans which serve to direct, coordinate, and control activities of an engineering project resulting in effective and efficient development of products from design concept through release to production.
+ Analyze product concepts in terms of features, function, performance, reliability, maintainability, cost, and product worthiness. Participate with other project team members to select those which merit further consideration.
+ Create product design concepts which fulfill market, engineering, and/or customer requirements using engineering models, sketches, and written descriptions.
+ Complete detailed product designs by preparing and directing the preparation of models, layouts, and detail drawings and by completing engineering calculations necessary to ensure that the product design conforms to product function, performance, cost, life, and other design requirements.
+ Develop, evaluate, and verify product designs by specifying and conducting meaningful testing, recording, simulation, analyzing, and reporting results of the development, test, and evaluation activity to ensure the designs function as required.
+ Provide information for, direct, and assist the preparation of final design documentation required for the Engineering release of product designs to production.
+ Provide technical support to Assembly, Purchasing, Sales, Service, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Manufacturing Engineering by recognizing the need for product revisions as it relates to transmissions and related products.
+ Define, analyze, and implement solutions to provide continuation engineering support to current product lines when placed in service and throughout the life of the product.
+ Partner with Sales, Service, Manufacturing Engineering, and Purchasing by participating in decisions on supply chain issues, quality issues, and manufacturing feasibility.
Essential Skills
+ 8+ years of experience within Design
+ 5+ years of experience with Transmissions (Gear drive/Chain Drive) or Engines, Motors
+ Proficiency in SolidWorks
+ Experience in new product development and mechanical design
+ Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles
+ Ability to develop and evaluate product designs
+ Experience in project engineering and product engineering
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with transmission, motors, engines, gear drive/chain drive
+ Knowledge in equipment design and pump assembly
Work Environment
This position is onsite and reports to the Engineering Manager. The role offers a diverse range of responsibilities and annual bonuses. The work environment promotes low turnover and provides a dynamic and engaging role.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
