Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Mechanical Engineer, we’ll count on you to:

Coordinate the work of mechanical engineers with the balance of a multidiscipline team throughout the entire project's development and contract document phase of a project.Assess and design wide range on HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial and industrial projects.Establish client relations, and participate in marketing, design and production meetings with regard to mechanical systems.Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code complianceAssume the mechanical lead on many projects.Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with the Project Manager, Project Architect and other disciplinesCoordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on scheduleConduct work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplinesTrack the financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust the work efforts with the team to ensure that work is completed within the parameters of the agreed-upon scheduleWork with the Project Manager, Regional Controller and Regional Director for project reviews with corporate management as neededReview mechanical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplinesWrite and edit mechanical specifications, selects equipment, mechanical systems and devicesCoordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documentsProvide construction contract administration as neededConduct QA/QC on the work of other Mechanical Project Engineers, Mechanical Project Coordinators or Mechanical CAD Technicians as neededPerform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with mechanical emphasis Professional Engineers license, Mechanical10 years experience in HVAC and plumbing system designComputer experience utilizing MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, manufacturer selection softwarePrevious experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm Commercial/institutional experience in healthcare a plusAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

Revit MEP experience preferredExperience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not requiredMaster’s degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasisPrevious healthcare, data center/mission critical experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired.Preference given to local candidates.
