Volt is immediately hiring for Senior Mechanical Engineer with a PE license in East Peoria, IL with potential for hybrid schedule.
\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
We’re looking for a talented person to design, develop, and test mechanical systems and components. You’ll apply your expertise to specific situations, analyze data, identify discrepancies and follow procedures. As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll collaborate with fellow engineers, environmental scientists and many others. You’ll also:
\r\n\r\n\r\n\tDesign and develop mechanical systems, components and products. \r\n\tConduct research and analysis to determine the feasibility, performance and cost-effectiveness of mechanical designs. \r\n\tCreate detailed engineering drawings and specifications using CAD software. \r\n\tPerform simulations and calculations to evaluate the structural integrity, thermal performance and mechanical behavior of designs. \r\n\tSelect materials and components based on engineering requirements, cost considerations and manufacturing constraints. \r\n\tPrototype and test mechanical systems and prototypes to validate performance and functionality.\r\n\tCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and manufacturing engineers, to integrate mechanical systems into product development.\r\n\tProvide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during product assembly, testing and deployment.\r\n\tParticipate in design reviews, project meetings and client interactions to communicate progress, discuss challenges and propose solutions.\r\n\tStay informed on the latest developments and trends in mechanical engineering technology.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Qualifications/Requirements:
\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.\r\n\t5+ years of proven experience in mechanical engineering design and product development. Also, must have 2+ years of project management experience.\r\n\tProfessional Engineer (PE) is required. Project Management Professional (PMP)\r\n\tFamiliarity with manufacturing processes, including injection molding, machining, and sheet metal fabrication.\r\n\tProficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and engineering analysis tools (e.g., Finite Element Analysis).\r\n\tStrong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science.\r\n\tExperience with prototyping techniques, such as 3D printing, CNC machining, and rapid prototyping.\r\n\tFamiliarity with manufacturing processes, including injection molding, machining, and sheet metal fabrication.\r\n\tProven track record of leading engineering projects from concept to production, with a strong emphasis on technical excellence, innovation, and quality.\r\n\tExcellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines within budget constraints.\r\n\tExperience mentoring and coaching junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.\r\n\tStrong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing engineering challenges.\r\n\tAbility to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.\r\n\tSound decision-making and problem-solving abilities.\r\n\tFamiliarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.\r\n\tExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\r\n\tExcellent attention to detail and accuracy.\r\n\tExcellent organizational skills.\r\n\tExcellent time management skills.\r\n\tAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\r\n\tAble to effectively communicate ideas and technical concepts to co-workers.\r\n\tMust be able to work effectively under pressure and with tight deadlines.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Pay Rate: $41.82 – $58.65 per hour
