The Senior Engineer is responsible for the activities related to an assigned organizational element, program, project, or task. Will normally plan, conduct, and supervise engineering design reviews and analysis assignments involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects. These projects, by their complexity and difficulty, require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in a specific engineering discipline.
What You Will Do:
Review OEM’s qualification package for Completion, Production, Intervention Equipment, including but not limited to risk assessment, engineering calculations, FEA, validation testing reports, and write technical report summarizing OEM’s qualification plan and results. Attend technical meetings with OEM and Operator, ensure project progresses smoothly, issues are resolved timely, and final product is delivered on schedule. Provides day-to-day leadership of Engineering staff assigned. Assigns projects to other Engineers and monitors the progress of all assigned projects. Ensures the delivery of high-quality service and maintenance of good customer relations. May perform detailed engineering review of plans for compliance with applicable Rules, Standards, Regulations, and contract requirements. Devises new approaches to problems encountered and recommends changes in methods, procedures, or design where necessary. Monitors the technical quality, content, consistency, continuity, and timeliness of action of all assigned projects. Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of technical responsibility. Performs engineering reviews and analyses when necessary. Reviews other Engineers' work and provides appropriate guidance and training when assigned and when necessary. Advises assigned staff in matters related to applying Rules and Regulations. Prepares written responses to clients in accordance with established procedures. Maintains liaison with other engineering specialists internally and externally. Monitors assigned engineers' performance, development potential, and training needs. Keeps management informed of manpower needs. Develops or assists in developing qualification statements, proposals, bids, and other presentation materials. Implements and maintains the Company’s Quality System within assigned areas of responsibility. Prepares accurate billing for clients.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent in mechanical, structural, or civil engineering. Should have at least eight (8) years of experience in an appropriate technical discipline and/or industry.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience with FEA software Knowledge of applicable API (e.g., 5C3, 5C5, 6A, 16A, 17D, 17G, 17TR8 ) and ASME standards (e.g., ASME BPVC VIII Div.2 and Div.3) Experience with BSEE HPHT I3P Review is a plus PMP certificate is a plus Knowledge of related technical disciplines. Knowledge of applicable Rules and Regulations and the impact of Rule applications and interpretations. The human relations skills necessary to maintain positive client contacts and provide mentorship and motivation to subordinate staff and peers. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to identify, analyze and solve complex or unique engineering problems. Ability to undertake short- and long-term planning to provide for efficient and effective scheduling of work assignments.
Reporting Relationships:
The incumbent generally reports to a Department Head or Manager but may report to others depending on the specifics of the assignment. There are no direct reports for this position.
