OVERVIEW Merrick & Company, an employee-owned company with headquarters in Colorado and offices throughout the country, is looking to expand our Mechanical Process/Piping Design staff to support projects in our Energy, Manufacturing & Bioprocessing unit. This position will be located in our Tulsa, OK or Greenwood Village, CO offices. Typical hourly pay range for this position is $39.00 - $50.00. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience. WHAT YOU'LL DO The Senior Mechanical/Process Piping Designer will be responsible for the design of the process and mechanical piping systems, complying with process piping standards and accepted industry practices. Projects will entail piping design and equipment layouts in the markets of oil & gas, bioprocessing, power, food & beverage, personal care, advanced technology, specialty chemicals, automotive, heavy manufacturing, and other industrial facilities/systems. Responsibilities include generation of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), preparation of 3D modeling of equipment and piping systems, development of detailed isometric drawings from the 3D model and equipment layout drawings, and field walk-downs as required to identify existing conditions and tie-in points. The designer will utilize Plant 3D, AutoCAD and CADWorx to design engineering drawings. The designer will generate process, mechanical and piping deliverables, taking direction from the project engineer, lead engineer, or lead designer. Working in a multi-disciplinary team, the designer will be responsible for generating designs to meet exacting technical standards and meeting expectations for attendance and punctuality. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Twelve (12) years of experience related experience in piping design and plant layout. AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Plant 3D proficiency. Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design teams, taking direction from other disciplines and project leaders. Experience in process piping design. Experience in design of wet and dry material handling and processing systems. Knowledge or experience in the use of national standards including ASME B31.3. Competence in MS Excel, MS Word, Bluebeam, and Navisworks. Candidates must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and must be insurable under Merrickās insurance carrier. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Technical degree or Certification in drafting or piping design. Experience in hygienic/sanitary piping design. CADWorx Database experience creating intelligent P&IDs, models and components. Proficiency using Revit and/or Navisworks Simulate software is a plus.
