Position Summary

The Senior Medical Director of Health Informatics and Analytics:

Leads a team of health informaticists subject matter experts focused on strategy, implementation, and governance of CVS Health electronic health records systemsCollaborates with the CMO of Retail Health and Associate CMO/SVP of CVS Health to help craft clinical components of informatics and analytics strategy, with a focus on population health initiativesProvides ongoing clinical expertise and insights to health information technology Retail Health and enterprise initiatives in collaboration with information technology, digital, and analytics teamsLeads integration of electronic health records, digital, and analytics tools across Retail Health to support delivery of safe, high value care while managing populations of patientsCo-develops and implements patient and provider oriented next best actions, using enterprise data and implemental tools, to nudge adoption of evidence-based careChampions a culture and use of health information technology to promote high quality, safe, equitable, highly reliable care while supporting the CVS clinician workforceProvides clinical perspective on all decisions related to the identification, development and management of technology needed to support Retail Health and enterprise programsCreates opportunities in the design of new products and services with significant potential to drive revenues and improve healthcare outcomesPromotes a culture of safety across all Retail Health programs, focusing on the use of sophisticated analytics to reduce errors. Works collaboratively with partners to build and harmonize patient safety strategiesParticipates, as necessary, in the sales process for Retail Health productsFosters an environment of delivering the highest-quality of care rooted in evidence-based medicineSupports broader enterprise care delivery efforts related to health informatics, particularly in advancing the CVS enterprise clinical data strategy as well as in the safe implementation of technology within CVS electronic health record and digital assetsInterfaces with the enterprise CMO and CMIO in support of broader enterprise initiatives as needed.



Required Qualifications

Medical Director with strong clinical practice experience in primary or specialty care, EMR and health informatics, Medicare Advantage, and innovative risk-based care modelsExperience in optimizing digital patient experienceHighly organized, detail oriented, proficient analytical ability, with effective listening and presentation skills and ability to manage sophisticated projectsStrong capability understanding of analytics and ability to translate insights into business strategy. Proficient in clinical quality measurement and improvementProven experience as a leader who clearly communicates with and engages leaders, clinical community, and team members in establishing a culture of openness, trust, and continual improvement
 



Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of experience in managed care or health informatics related rolesExperience with operating within and managing Epic electronic health records systems



Education

Active and current state medical license without encumbrancesM.D. or D.O. Board Certification in recognized specialty including post graduate direct patient careMaster’s degree or fellowship training in clinical informatics or related field preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$184,112.50 - $396,550.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
