Overview: In this role, you will contribute to the research, development, and implementation of innovative technologies to support AT&T's mission to connect people and businesses around the globe. Working as a Technical Staff member, the candidate must demonstrate and continually evolve highly technical skills across multiple technology disciplines.

The candidate will be required to have or be capable of exhibiting extraordinary contributions in specific technical areas and work on future or next generation technologies and platforms. Your contribution can be external to the company but shall be primarily internal. In addition, you should have worked or be capable of working on projects of extremely high complexity where analysis of situation or data requires in-depth evaluation of intangible factors. The results achieved have business benefits such as cost savings and efficiency improvements to the network and directs engineering, projects/people in solving unique or critical business problems that have an impact on major company programs.

The candidate will provide guidance and leadership to the team members and serves as a technical knowledge source within the organization. Additionally, the candidate will make major contributions that have direct impact on the quality of the services provided to AT&T customers.

Roles/Scope: The work scope includes deep understanding in the IP, MPLS and TE arena, for development of technologies as well as statistical and analytical skills in dissecting complex and stressful Service Provider issues. These skills will require novel concepts and approaches to understand the Root cause in legacy architectures as well as evolving architectures, which include virtual network functions and virtual networks on white box merchant silicon technologies. Working as a Member of Tech Staff, the candidate will perform technical project development and implementation work of a moderate scope within a larger technical project that is within a specific technology discipline.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

Candidate must have Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent and 3+ years of experience in some areas of the below skills but not limited to:

IP Routing Protocols Subject Matter Expertise – MPLS, BGP, MP-BGP, BGP-LU, BGP-UC, EVPN, Static, OSPF, ISIS, RSVP, Multicast, Vlan, RIP, FIB, L2/L3-VPNs, SNMP, Telemetry.Networking Technologies – TCP/UDP, VxLAN, VPCs, NAT, DNS, QoS, CoS, BGP FlowSpec, VRFs, TACACS, BFD, Security, Netflow, TWAMP, Route-reflectors, Route groups, Hub and Spoke.Virtualized Network functions Technologies: (VNFs, KVM and VMware) and containerization platforms including OpenStack, Heat templates, Docker, & Kubernetes. Senior level experience with lab environments, Linux based.Multivendor Platforms Expertise but not limited to – Cisco IOS and IOS-XR platforms, Cisco CRS, Cisco ASR 9000 series platforms, Juniper MX, T-Series Platforms including JunOS. Arista Network Switches 7K, Ufi, DriveNets NOS.DevOps model: Familiar with current interaction requirements across Lifecycle, design, and planning organizations in order to implement innovative technology insertion as well as supporting day to day network operations escalation support.Strong expertise LAN/WAN, cloud networks, telecommunications and security architectures.Experience in design of software-defined networking (SDN).Platform and Cloud Vender Certifications a Plus.

Secondary Skills:

Candidate with Scripting/automation experience using Python/Shell/C/JAVA / and hands on work experience in configuring IXIA, Spirent, and other test equipment’s.Experience with DevOps tools: Ansible, Jenkins, Git and Jira

Our Senior Member of Technical Staff earn between $148,200.00 - $222,400.00 USD Annual. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
