Senior Metallurgical Technician
Job Title: Metallurgical Technician
Job Description

As our Sr. Met Tech, you will work closely leading junior technicians, as well as working collaboratively with the metallurgical and engineering team to perform routine tasks, including operating and maintaining equipment, as well as conducting analysis and experimental procedures.

ResponsibilitiesProgress concepts collaboratively through to design.Oversee the detailed planning, fabrication, construction, and commissioning of bench and pilot scale equipment.Create detailed maintenance schedules for bench and pilot scale equipment.Use various measuring devices to determine the thickness, plating, and coatings on a variety of materials.Mount, polish, and saw cut metal and alloy samples using hand tools and/or machines.Perform tests on metal samples to determine strength, hardness, and other properties.Conduct microscopic examinations of metals and alloys.Write data reports based on the tests conducted.Essential SkillsMinimum of 5 years of direct experience in a metallurgical laboratory environment.Experience in management and supervision of a team.Strong knowledge of metallurgical processes, materials characterization, and failure analysis.Proficiency in using metallurgical software and laboratory equipment.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsBackground in chemistry.Experience with various lab equipment.Work Environment

You will work in a laboratory environment equipped with advanced metallurgical equipment and software. The role involves using hand tools and machines for mounting, polishing, and saw cutting metal and alloy samples. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with a team. The working hours are standard, with occasional requirements for extended hours depending on project needs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $125000.00
