**Senior Metallurgist** :
The Senior Metallurgist will oversee and coordinate laboratory services within the company, providing leadership to a dedicated team of professionals responsible for generating Chemical, Metallographic, and Mechanical data. These data will support Research, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Product Certification processes. The Senior Metallurgist will ensure the smooth operation and continued development of laboratory resources for critical testing and analysis.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ **Laboratory Leadership and Coordination:** Direct and supervise the laboratory team, including the Chief Chemist, Laboratory Coordinators, Technicians, and Production Personnel, ensuring seamless coordination of services related to raw material analysis, product melting, and final product testing for chemical, metallographic, and mechanical properties.
+ **Product and Process Evaluation:** Oversee the laboratory testing process from initial raw material analysis through to final product certification. Collaborate closely with Research, Engineering, and Manufacturing departments to ensure testing meets product specifications, customer requirements, and third-party accreditation standards.
+ **Capital Equipment Management:** Responsible for the maintenance, budgeting, and strategic acquisition of capital laboratory equipment valued at approximately $3,000,000, used for chemical, metallographic, and mechanical testing. Prepare and present recommendations for new equipment to meet current and future analysis needs.
+ **Staff Development:** Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to laboratory personnel, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
+ **Troubleshooting & Customer Relations:** Troubleshoot complex laboratory and product issues, ensuring timely resolution. Engage with customers as needed to address technical concerns and ensure satisfaction.
+ **Reporting and Presentations:** Prepare and present clear reports on laboratory activities, performance, and key results to senior management. Ensure the timely completion of projects and testing, maintaining high levels of quality and efficiency.
**Qualifications:**
**Education and Experience:**
+ **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related Engineering/Metallurgy discipline.
+ **Experience:** Minimum of 10 years in a Technical/Engineering role, with 3-5 years of experience in the metals industry. Proven track record of at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or management position.
+ **Certifications:** Relevant certifications in laboratory operations, metallurgy, or quality assurance are a plus.
**Total compensation $110-$130K with a discretionary bonus. Plus full a full benefit package including health, life, dental and vision insurance. And a matching 401l Program.**
**Pay Details:** $110,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year
