About the Role

This role is offered on a permanent contract with a 9-day fortnight dayshift roster, DIDO (Drive In, Drive Out) to our Boddington Bauxite Mine. The mine is located just a short drive from Boddington (10 minutes), Pinjarra (50 minutes), the City of Mandurah (1 hour), and the City of Armadale (1 hour 10 minutes). Transport options are available.

As the Senior Mining Engineer/Scheduling, you will be responsible for providing expertise, coordination, and management in developing and communicating medium-term plans, schedules, and forecasts (up to two years). These plans will ensure the effective completion of production, development, and rehabilitation activities. The scheduling process must consider all HSEC (Health, Safety, Environment, and Community) requirements to ensure safe, cost-effective, and continuous production while meeting all quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

Lead the development, communication, and coordination of medium-term plans, schedules, and forecasts for operations, covering production, development, and rehabilitation. Participate in investigating reported events related to production planning. Highlight, assess, and manage risks to safety and business continuity. Identify and implement improvement initiatives in production planning. Mentor junior team members to develop their skills and capabilities.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

Experience and Capabilities:

Business Acumen: Proven ability to solve complex problems and handle ambiguity. Extensive Mining Experience: In mine design, planning, and scheduling for surface mining operations. Scheduling Software Proficiency: Highly competent in using scheduling software, with experience in Vulcan software being highly desirable. Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications:

Tertiary Qualification in Mining Engineering. Significant Experience in a technical mining role (preferably in surface mining). Proven ability to operate in a complex environment, leading and facilitating diverse teams.
