WHAT TO EXPECT
A successful model-based software developer at JLR is an exciting, high paced and diverse role. It spans all stages of the systems engineering “V". As model-based developer you will collaborate closely with system engineers to help them design and create robust requirements and have the opportunity to work with software architects to inform high-level software architecture design.
Your primary responsibility will involve developing Simulink models suitable for both simulation and code generation. Your attention to detail will be crucial as you will verify your work using Unit, Model-in-Loop, and Software-in-Loop testing, and be able troubleshoot and resolve any bugs that arise.
You will join our existing software development team, and be expected to share your ideas, communicate effectively, and collaborate with others on a wide variety of topics.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Analysing of incoming requirements, and where necessary providing review feedback Translation of requirements into models for simulation and code generation Creating high-quality Simulink models, that consider code re-use and best practices Authoring and reviewing Unit, Model-in-loop, and Software-in-loop testcases Investigating the root cause of defects and resolving them
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Ability to translate high-level requirements into tangible designs Ability to create and analyse models using relevant tools such as Simulink, SysML, or UML Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and their implementation Proficiency in capturing, analysing, and documenting software requirements Experience with Unit testing, Model-in-Loop testing, and Software-in-Loop testing
