Senior Model-Based Systems Engineer

Rite-Solutions, Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior-Level Model-Based Systems Engineer for a position at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) in Dahlgren, VA. The Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) will join a team of experts providing systems operation expertise to the NSWCDD Integrated Combat Systems Department (V). This department plans and executes systems engineering activities supporting current and future Combat System Command and Control (C2) functions. \n

Job Description:\n

The candidate will apply their MBSE experience to create System and System of Systems (SoS) models for the Navy's surface fleet combat systems. Responsibilities include developing SoS models, Top-Level Requirements (TLRs) models, combat architectures and architecture concepts, and report generation templates using Velocity Templating Language (VTL). This role involves creating Unified Architecture Framework (UAF), DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), and Systems Modeling Language (SysML) diagrams. Experience in creating SysML diagrams is required; experience with UAF and DoDAF viewpoints is desired. This position is a key step towards implementing MBSE across NSWCDD's V Dept and is critical to the nation's security.\n

Requirements:\n\nComprehensive understanding of SysML with at least 5 years of experience building SysML models in Cameo Systems Modeler (or MagicDraw).\nUnderstanding and experience with UAF is a plus.\nExperience modeling and implementing MBSE on new or legacy systems.\nExceptional soft skills, with the ability to communicate complex MBSE topics to non-technical government stakeholders and clearly articulate the benefits of MBSE.\nExperience creating custom report generation templates and macros in Cameo Systems Modeler.\n\n

Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nLead the adoption of MBSE and model-based artifacts on legacy combat systems programs.\nMaintain Top-Level Requirements models.\nDesign and develop warfare system architecture models.\nDesign and develop enterprise architecture models.\nModel external and internal interfaces.\nElicit MBSE needs from government stakeholders.\nTrain government stakeholders on the benefits of MBSE, MBSE practices, and how to interpret various SysML and UAF diagrams.\nModel system missions, use cases, behaviors, and structures.\nCreate report generation templates using VTL.\nCreate process diagrams and facilitate seamless transitions to MBSE.\nPresent MBSE results to customers, MBSE communities, and Rite-Solutions leadership.\n\n

Requirements\/Skills:\n\n8+ years of applicable Systems Engineering experience (2 years may be supplemented with a Masters of Science in Systems Engineering or a related technical field).\n5+ years of applicable MBSE experience.\nBachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical field.\nExpert knowledge of Cameo Systems Modeler or MagicDraw.\nComprehensive understanding of SysML.\nExpert understanding of MBSE Methodologies (e.g., OOSEM, MagicGrid, SYSMOD).\nExperience implementing MBSE on new or legacy systems.\nExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate the benefits of MBSE to various stakeholders.\nAbility to explain the process of creating models for legacy and new systems.\nU.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance\n\n

Additional Skills of Interest (not required):\n\nExperience building DoDAF and UAF diagrams.\nOCSMP Model User, or higher, certification.\nINCOSE CSEP or ESEP certification.\nExperience with report generation in Cameo Systems Modeler.\nExperience modeling Naval combat systems or unmanned systems.\nActive DoD Top Secret security clearance\n\n
