Service Team Leader

Your role and responsibilities

Under the direction of MV Drives Service Manager, Field Service provides technical onsite and offsite support and expertise in response to a variety of site work requests, telephone calls and emails regarding installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and programming questions and to technical problems encountered by users of ABB Medium Voltage drives and systems. This in turn results in different actions on the part of the individual depending on the specific circumstances of each case. The work model for the role is: remote #LI-RemoteThis role is contributing to the Motion Service division in the USA. You will be mainly accountable for:•\tPerform installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and re-pair of ABB Medium Voltage (MV) Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).•\tInvestigate problems and independently initiate effective measures for their solution. •\tCoordinate activities with related groups to most efficiently achieve objectives to ensure customer satisfaction. •\tParticipate proactively in contributing feedback regarding product quality issues to reduce warranty costs. •\tSubmit completed, detailed, and comprehensive service reports in a timely manner and follows up when needed.Our team dynamics: You will join a talented team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role

\tAssociate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical program and 8 years of experience in installing, testing, repairing or troubleshooting AC/DC drive systems and their associated controls.\tAbility to interpret circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, technical manuals, and technical specifications.\tCommunicate effectively and present information to top management, customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization. \tCoaches and provides technical guidance to fellow colleagues, departments, and customers. \tAbility to travel up to 80% of the time.\tWilling to provide technical support during evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule.\tBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, experience with MV Drives, knowledge of power electronics, motors, transformers, switch gears, and computer network communication protocol and theory of operation preferred.
