Job Description:
Developing a new Network for the end client. All work is on site in Needham, MA- locals only. Network Engineer will be creating a new communication network from the ground up (IPv6) - [ALSO KNOWN AS Ipng]. This candidate will be doing Network definition and configuration along with the Call Manager Installation. This network will be voice initially and will be deployed in many switch locations by dropping the IP Backbone into the existing network. The new Network will need to interface with the existing on through a PRI Interface (required skill). 12 Platforms with 1 cluster. Most of the equipment is Cisco (ASR 9010 routers & 3900 series; 3560 series switches). The candidate will need to be able to model the network in a lab setting and then develop templates that can be customized for each site.
" Cisco Call Manager installation, backup, and configuration experience required. Need to also be able to configure voice services on routers.
" Cisco Ethernet Switch and Router configuration experience, with BGP on back bone, also needs basic Cisco Firewall configuration skills.
" The network also has support systems such as management PCs and terminal servers so it is very much like the WIN-T Inc 1 network but fixed plant rather than ground mobile.
Duties and Tasks:
" Performs or leads requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of system, subsystem or system elements with little or no supervision.
" Performs or leads technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for subsystems and system elements
" Performs or leads customer requirements analysis, develops system requirements and defines allocations to lower levels (subsystem, elements and components).
" Performs or leads detailed technical analyses for a system, subsystem or system elements to include: concept, requirements, design, fabrication, integration, test, acceptance, delivery, installation, training, operation, maintenance and disposal.
" Contributes to detailed technical analyses at the system of system (SOS) level.
" Synthesizes solutions to meet customer expectations and technical performance while staying within schedule and cost constraints.
" Leads Modeling and Simulation activities.
" Researches and analyzes data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
" Effectively chooses the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of technical engineering products.
" Leads technical tasks for medium teams or projects.
" Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments.
" Guides the successful completion of major programs and projects.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related field, or the equivalent experience is required. Advanced degree preferred. In addition, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required, 12 years are preferred.
