What you will do
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for managing the purchase, installation, and support of network communications, including LAN/WAN systems, firewalls, and other network security hardware. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a secure and efficient network environment while providing proactive insights into application performance and risk areas.
Essential Functions
Troubleshoot network systems and recommend improvements to enhance performance. Participate in network planning, engineering, and architecture while developing technical standards. Plan and recommend network hardware, systems management software, and network architecture. Research and evaluate new products and services, recommending enhancements to existing network systems. Monitor network performance, conduct capacity planning, and proactively identify areas for improvement. Serve as a liaison with vendors to ensure proper operation and maintenance of network equipment. Analyze network components for upgrades and recommend enhancements. Configure and maintain routers, switches, and Wi-Fi network systems for LAN/WAN. Maintain accurate configuration and change control documentation while reviewing service levels. Utilize expert knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, Extreme Networks switches, and F5 Networks load balancers to manage security and network infrastructure. Provide work leadership and training to network engineers.Additional Responsibilities
Develop disaster recovery scripts and participate in disaster recovery testing. Ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.What you need
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred. 4-7 years of experience in network engineering, network security, or related IT infrastructure roles.Skills & Abilities:
Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues. Excellent collaboration and team-building skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong technical aptitude with a deep understanding of LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi networks and TCP/IP. Experience with packet capture analysis and network security protocols. Ability to work in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.Salary Range
Senior Network Engineer: $86,413 - $ 129,619The final salary to be paid and position within the internal salary range is reflective of the employee’s work experience, geographic location, education, certification(s), scope and responsibilities in the role, and additional qualifications.
