We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer in support of a critical Law Enforcement customer.  The person in this role will join an Innovations team tasked with designing and implementing a large-scale modernized network for a large agency.  Less about operations and maintenance, more about leveraging cutting edge technology to make a better network.  The person in this position will be among a group of peers to collaborate on this challenging effort.

 

ACTIVE Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain an SCI security clearance are required.  Must be able and willing to work 100% onsite in the Huntsville, AL area. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Work extensivlely in a WAN environment using IP (Internet Protocol) and MPLS (Multiprotocol label Switching) for connectivity.Design/implement IP/MPLS network transport systems to support voice, data, video traffic.Support IP transport systems critical dataSupport and troubleshooting a mix of networking technologies including MPLS, VRF and
BGP working within in an ISP / Telecoms service provider environmentDesign and implementation of peering IP networks using BGP and MPLS, interior routing
protocols.Architect networks for new services, identify areas of improvement, and
develop/implement acceptance testing plans.Configuration, provisioning and deploy designed network solutions from build to
deployment within IP Routing, MPLS / BGP environment.Experience in dynamic protocols including OSPF and BGP.Experience configuring and deploying Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper routers, switches and
firewalls in an MPLS network environment.Determine network equipment needed to meet specified requirements.Complete and maintain network topology documents, design and diagrams in OneDrive
share folder, network inventory is current.Maintain and implement network firewalls, manage security access to protect the network
from intentional and accidental abuse, unauthorized access, and any communication loss.Work closely with Network Operations Center (NOC) and Field Technicians on 1st/2nd/3rd
line troubleshooting in support of the customer on network faults and developing product
turn-up processes.Ensure minimal downtime/outage with quick workarounds, troubleshooting, and correcting
fault conditions.Script programs to automate configuration/provisioning of services.Provide training and mentoring to other team members.Develop and support procedures for ensuring network survivability and disaster recovery.

Required Experience and Education:

Active Top Secret security clearance, and the ability to obtain an SCI is requiredAbility to work onsite at a federal facility in Huntsville, AL6+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing WAN using MPLS network solutions

The successful candidate will work in an environment featuring newer technology and will get hands on experience with SD-WAN (Software-Defined WAN).
