PIX11 AM News has an exciting new opening for a Senior News Producer!
This is a Monday-Friday overnight position.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned veteran of broadcast television – specifically local news.
Past experience in special projects and leadership is a plus.
The Senior News Producer will work with the Assistant News Director and other managers to re-imagine an existing PIX11 newscast with a unique approach, setting it apart from the competition. This role will require big ideas and bold storytelling methods. The Senior News Producer will be expected to fully utilize PIX11’s state-of-the-art studio in the production of daily newscasts and special events.
PIX11 News is located in the heart of Midtown, in the historic News Building on 42nd Street.

Duties:
Decide daily news coverage in coordination with the team.Copy edit all newscastsAssist line producers by making editorial and production decisionsProduce newscasts when necessary Edit/create and request graphic and video elements to supplement news coverage Craft a dynamic newscast full of memorable moments and stylized production Ensure balance in news coverage Work with Creative Services on newscast promotion Performs other duties as assignedRequirements & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in news operations (Depending on market size) Knowledge of NYC media market preferred, but not required Prior experience producing special projects and events preferred, but not required Proficiency with electronic news gathering systems such as ENPS, BitCentral, Latakoo, AP Newsroom and Daybook Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Flexibility to work any shift – including overnights, evenings, weekends and holidays Salary Range: $90,000 – $100,000
