Senior Nurse Technician - Clinical Decision Unit

The 2100 Clinical Decision Unit is a fast-paced unit with a high patient turnover rate (less than 24 hours) located on the hospital's cardiac telemetry floor. This unit treats major diagnoses, such as chest pain, syncope, and dizziness. **A caregiver in this position works evenings, 3:00pm-11:30pm or 3:00pm-3:30am.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Prepare units, patient rooms, and patient beds for receiving patient admission, returning surgical patients, transfer, or emergencies. + Provide and document assigned care (bath, changing and/or refreshing of bed linen, dressing/undressing of patient, back rubs, etc.) and other general care through the day to assure patient's physical comfort. + Perform and document in the electronic medical records the patient's temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, weight, height, and measure intake and output in an accurate and precise manner. + Assist with pre-operative and post-operative care, such as turning and positioning patients with proper body mechanics, applying/utilizing special equipment, as necessary and ambulating the patient as directed in a safe, prescribed manner. + Perform hourly safety rounds willingly, anticipates patient needs and responds to patient call lights promptly. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High school diploma or GED + Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) + Prior job or educational experience providing basic computer knowledge and skills Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Can perform basic clinical mathematics. + Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff. + State Tested Nursing Assistant + One year recent acute care experience Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
