YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

This position assists in driving and implementing the strategy to successfully develop and deliver the Global Corn Biotechnology and Global Corn Breeding Trait Integration product pipeline genetics from project initiation to parent line development to Product Supply hand off.

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Nursery Manager (Production / Supply Chain Environment), are to:

 

The role implements aspects of the parent line development and delivery strategy for the corn Breeding Pipeline and Trait Integration Pipeline for Bayer Crop Science.Apply defined scientific principles to lead design and analysis of complex experiments;Influential consultant for plant breeders and Global Breeding pipeline planners;Use modern statistics methods and analysis software;Structure plantings in greenhouse genetics nurseries;Effectively communicates research findings;Work with stakeholders across functions to understand what KPIs are important;Enable scheduled reposting and monitoring of nursery processes;Prepare mock-ups, reports, analysis and presentations;Communicate frequently with stakeholders on-an off-site;

WHO YOU ARE 

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

PhD with relevant experience, or MS with minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or BS with minimum of 6 years relevant experience;Ability to work extended hours during peak operational seasons;Demonstrated capability of continuous improvements and new innovations through work on project teams;Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders through challenges and opportunities; partners with key stakeholders on solutions;Familiarity with modern breeding methodologies, including genotyping and bioassays;Experience with large data sets;Excellent MS Excel;

Desired Qualifications:

 

BS in Agronomy, Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field;Expertise with both standard MS Office computer and software systems used in scientific data analysis, with ability to quickly learn new software programs and tools;Capable of utilizing multiple analytics platforms to articulate observations and areas in need of improvement;Familiarity with data science and computer programming and a demonstrated ability to perform data analysis with large datasets.Experience in coding software such as "R", "Python", etc.Experience with seed technology industry or plant breeding;Expertise with precision agriculture hardware and software.

Domestic relocation may be provided for this role.
