Senior Nursing Leader – Outpatient Services


If you are looking for a day shift, Monday-Friday senior nursing leadership position in an outpatient setting in the Capital Region, this could be your opportunity. The Senior Nursing Leader plays a vital role in managing outpatient nursing services, ensuring clinical excellence, and driving operational efficiency. This position requires collaboration with managers and providers to ensure clinical protocols and processes are followed while overseeing clinical staff and coverage appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilize the nursing process to diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential problems, considering individual patient needs and resources.

Oversee clinical workflows, ensuring adherence to established protocols and best practices.

Collaborate with managers and healthcare providers to maintain clinical excellence and operational efficiency.

Manage clinical staffing, ensuring adequate coverage and optimal workflow.

Act as a mentor and resource for nursing staff, supporting professional development and best practices.

Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Perform high-quality care and function in a capacity consistent with AAI/CPAI/EG/SPHPMA protocol.

Perform MRI safety screening, implant recognition, and patient positioning for MRI and CT exams.

Administer MRI and CT contrast, including obtaining patient consent.

Maintain emergency procedures knowledge, resuscitation skills, and proper use of emergency equipment.

Order medical supplies, monitor drug boxes, and conduct MRI confirmation calls.

Enter patient history, associated paperwork, and contrast amounts in EPIC.

Maintain professionalism with patients, staff, and referring physician’s office staff.

Complete mandatory yearly compliance and safety testing.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.

Licensure: Current NYS RN license and registration required.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Experience: 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience.

Skills: Ability to assess, treat, and care for patients based on age and clinical needs. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
