BASF’s Greenville, Ohio site is seeking a professional like you to provide leadership and support for EHS programs, management systems and initiatives. In this role, you will be actively involved in the production units supporting day-to-day operations to ensure activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner. In addition, you will leverage your knowledge as a safety professional to improve the safety mindset of our teams through facilitating classroom training and providing one-on-one feedback to individual employees as well as provide periodic support to other EC locations.
This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your regulatory and technical expertise in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Process Safety. You will also leverage your ability to effectively interact with and influence site leadership, corporate functional leaders, elected officials, regulatory agencies, non-governmental organizations, and community leaders / representatives.
You create chemistry by...Developing and maintaining PSM and safety programs, policies, and procedures for the site.Leading and participating in risk assessments and working to accurately address identified deficiencies.Ensure adherence to EHS policies and procedures including the Responsible Care® Management Systems.Driving the continuous improvement of EHS processes and systems. Identifying and monitoring key performance indicators within your area of responsibility and making appropriate adjustments to improve EHS performance.Leading and participating in project reviews, process hazard analyses, and change management processes.Ensuring all internal and external reporting requirements are met. Have a Degree in a Science related discipline such as Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or Chemistry (Bachelor's strongly preferred; may consider Associates with 15+ expertise).Will develop strong working relationships with site management, employees, the EHS community, regulatory agencies/third parties and be a positive change agent within the organization.Count with 7+ years’ experience in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Emergency Response program management in a manufacturing environment (Chemical or Petrol Chemical preferred) will serve you as you lead/participate in risk assessments to identify and address deficiencies.Are able to provide tactical and strategic guidance to the site leadership on critical EHS issues and ensure adherence to EHS policies and procedures. Identify, lead and deliver training content, and coach as needed. Roll out programs, procedures, tools, and share successful best practices across the EC EHS organization.Are a self-starter and demonstrate strong sense of initiative. Are able to work independently with minimal supervision, interacting with all levels of the organization.Can interact with local and federal regulatory agencies. Have strong collaboration, leadership, teamwork, interpersonal relations/ communications, customer focus, influencing/ impact skills required.
