Principal responsibilities
Lead collecting and analyzing operational data to assess the performance of various aspects of wholesale services and develop analytical models to support planning and management decisions. Develop demand and capacity planning model for service journeys for business management and planningProvide analytical insights on service and operational outcomes according to various organizational constraints and data inputs for greater customer transparencyLead the development of simulation models and tools to resolve complex business problems including but not limited to service and operational performance management, process simplification, organizational efficiency improvement and customer experience optimization, control effectiveness etc.Conduct relevant research and investigation on new technique in data analytics, AI and operations research and management domainsRole Context
The role holder is required to work independently and with autonomy, sometimes dealing with issues for which there is no clear cut solution, whilst still being able to provide judgement and clear direction. The role holder will be responsible for making decisions. The nature of the role requires close working contact with colleagues across different geographies and time zones.Management of Risk
Aware of the operational risks associated with both the role and the specific deliverables of a given change. All significant issues to be escalated to the Transformation Programme Lead in a timely manner. Analysis of processes must ensure that FIM controls and procedures are documented accurately.Observation of Internal Controls
Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.Some careers have more impact than others.

PhD or Masters degree is preferred.Strong quantitative and analytical skills with good writing, presentation and interpersonal skillsGood knowledge in operations research techniques and domain applications including but not limited to linear programming, constraint programming, game theory etc. Experience and knowledge in simulation tools and proficient in programming languages (e.g. Python) would be an advantageExperienced in data analytics, AI including Generative AI/large language modelsKnowledge of business, service and/or operation performance management in wholesale bank Management skills to coach and oversee junior analystsYou’ll achieve more at HSBC
