The Senior Accountant will be responsible for calculating monthly Capex accruals and working with Operations teams to review, analyze and understand monthly gross and net Capex, plus provide internal reporting information to Operations and Accounting leadership. This position requires strong attention to detail and research skills, as well as a high degree of accuracy. The position also requires effective communication skills as well as the ability to pick up on new concepts quickly.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and calculate monthly Capex accrualsProvide analysis on capital expenditures and guidance on appropriate accounting treatment to Operations teams and others within accountingEvaluate Capex projects for potential coding errors and provide correctionsAnalyze and explain monthly Capex varianceAssist with the preparation of monthly Capex presentation slidesCollaborate with others in accounting and across the organization for projects, as neededManage and assist with various AFE requests as neededOther duties or ad hoc projects, analysis or reviews as needed or requestedRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (BBA or BS) in Finance, Accounting, or similar disciplineFive (5+) years of Oil and Gas accounting experienceFive (5+) or more years of demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office, specifically ExcelPreferred Qualifications:
SAP experience preferredHigh degree of accuracy and attention to detailGood problem solving and critical thinking skillsAbility to operate both independently and as part of a team Eye for continuous improvement opportunitiesFlexible regarding workload and priorities Ability to pick up on new concepts quickly Effective communication skills to work with all levels of the organizationPossess a positive and team-oriented attitudeRelocation:
