About this opportunity:

The Conventional Operations Team is looking to fill a Calgary-based Senior Operations Engineering role for the conventional business. The Senior Operations Engineer is responsible for maximizing value by providing technical engineering support to ensure safe, efficient and compliant operations at their facilities. They will also promote safety as a core value in their approach to design and execution and champion a focus on Process Safety in design and operation,

What you’ll do:

Provide technical infrastructure, design and process engineering support to the operation. This includes process modelling, compressor evaluations, valve sizing, and an understanding of applicable codes & standards (e.g.: ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, CSA Z662, API)

Managing day-to-day plant activities, providing clear communication and transfer of duties to the area Operations or Facilities Engineer

Work with field leadership on shutdown scoping, planning and execution

Maintain regulatory compliance at all facilities. This includes but is not limited to: GHG reporting, monthly reporting, EPEA, noise, dehy emissions, LEMS, CEPA, facility licensing, etc

Be accountable for project technical scoping, design, cost estimating, and economic analysis for the facilities under their responsibility. Prepare and present project justification material to an integrated team to ensure alignment of opportunity with corporate initiatives and budgets

Work with other teams to review monthly plant business performance, challenge anomalies, identify and implement opportunities to optimize area value, and promote and evaluate implementation of new technologies

Provide mentorship to other staff and foster a collaborative environment with field personnel to develop and implement engineered solutions to maintenance and operational issues

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

Legally authorized to work in Canada

Professional Engineer sanctioned by APEGA with ability to authenticate mechanical engineering deliverables

Minimum 8+ of relevant operations, facility and production engineering experience and knowledge of upstream oil and gas industry and facility design

Knowledge of frequently used codes (ASME B31.3, CSA Z662 etc.)

Strong communication skills with an ability to influence multi-disciplinary teams including Field Operations, Maintenance, Regulatory, Finance, Commercial, Marketing and external companies

Ability to multi-task and prioritize, with strong operations troubleshooting skills and the ability to make timely and consistent decisions
