Senior or Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer

Summary: Seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with expertise in MEP design, project management, and systems development.

Job Requirements:

4-year mechanical engineering bachelor's degree.

5-10+ years of experience in an MEP design and consulting firm.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.

Experience with HVAC design.

Knowledge of applicable codes and standards for mechanical, piping, and plumbing systems.

Preferred Skills:

Licensure as a Professional Engineer.

Experience with chilled water, refrigeration, ammonia systems, compressed air systems, plumbing & fire protection.

Familiarity with boiler & steam/hot water distribution systems, HVAC systems, water/wastewater systems.

Proficient in process design including PFDs and P&IDs.

Skilled in equipment specification, evaluation & selection; utility piping/equipment connections; power generation/cogeneration; life cycle cost analysis & energy modeling.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform as a mechanical engineer across project development stages including client coordination and site visits.

Conduct existing conditions surveys; prepare PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, sections, elevations, and details to document conditions.

Conceptualize initial design approach for projects with responsibility for engineering/design related to process/mechanical/plumbing systems per code requirements.

Coordinate designs/schedules with other disciplines to resolve complex problems.

Prepare construction drawings/technical specifications/contract documents/estimates for process/mechanical/plumbing works.

Develop engineering solutions/designs/cost estimates/bill of materials/schedules for projects.

Participate in the contract bidding process; respond to contractor requests for information; issue bulletin/change order documentation.

Provide field engineering/construction services such as shop drawing review/on-site observation.
