Senior Oracle Database Administrator

Position Description:

This position will be responsible for: 
. Administration of databases throughout the development and production lifecycles. 
. Design and develop logical and physical database designs from customer requirements.
. Administration tasks for several Oracle databases.
. provide advice and support to development resources.
. Provide guidance in the creation and modification of standards and procedures.
. Supporting the standing standards, policies and procedures of the customer team. 
. Provide mentorship to group members and will be expected to help develop and support mid and junior level staff. 
. May be scheduled for after hours on-call support and will be required to apply production packages during non-peak hours.
. The implementation of replication, virtualization, and ETL tasks.
. The selected candidate will accept other duties as directed by management.
 
Skills Requirements:

Experience should have been gained in a large complex database environment involving a diverse application environment including web based, client server, and batch platforms. Experience includes developing and implementing Oracle databases using a multi-stage lifecycle that includes at a minimum the development, validation, and production lifecycle stages.
   
       Required Skills
 
1.      Effective communication skills.

2. Oracle 11g DBA experience in a Unix/Linux Environment. 
a.       Oracle 11g database design and implementation
b.      Oracle 11g database performance tuning
c.       Oracle 11g application performance tuning.
d.      Oracle 11g PL/SQL - Stored procedures and triggers. 
e.       Oracle 11g troubleshooting and debugging.
f.        Oracle 11g RMAN backup and recovery.
g.       Oracle 11g RAC 
h.      Oracle 11g Data Replication and Materialized Views
 
1.      Proficient in developing Unix shell scripts. 
2.      The ability to effectively work independently with no or minimal oversight to complete assigned work tasks.
3.      The ability to readily understand and follow standards, guidelines, and procedures and to promote the same in others.
4.      The ability to effectively provide technical direction and mentor other staff to achieve business goals.
5.      The ability to meaningfully assist defining and implementing enterprise class database infrastructures.
6.      The ability to multitask work assignments and produce accurate and timely work products using a balanced approach.

a.       Oracle 11g Oracle Advanced Security (highly desired).
b.      Oracle 11g Enterprise User Security (highly desired).
c.       Oracle 11g Label Security (Optional).
d.      Oracle 11g Data Guard (optional).


Minimum experience and education: Candidates must have a BS degree with a minimum of 11 years work experience or 132 months of workexperience. Prefer experience at various levels of Oracle DBA administration.
Work experience in college may be included. Excellent written and oral communications.
