Senior Oracle Developer
Overview Key Responsibilities: 1. The key responsibilities of a senior Oracle developer include: Project Management and Change Management Able to effectively work on project teams by identifying issues, requirements, project milestones, phases, and elements, participating in project team and assisting in all aspects of Oracle application development. Meet with key users from projects as well as businesses on a weekly basis to discuss activities and priorities. Meet with established business owners at minimum once a month and alert business and IT management of any critical issues. Maintain SOX and legal regulations when supporting and implementing systems. Implementation, Support & Development Actively participate in the design, implementation, setup, testing and training of users to support, rollout or upgrade Oracle ERP systems. Meet with decisions makers, system owners and end users to define business, financial and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve system issues. Work with Oracle and Oracle based business applications, local and remote development team members, and end-users to identify development requirements and execute approved development. Document technical designs, processes and system flows. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to: Oracle Financials, Manufacturing, Order Management, Purchasing and Distribution applications. Interfaces between Oracle Applications and other systems. Web front-end and integration with other business applications is desirable. Key expert in specific functionality of ERP system software and primary responsibility for RICE deliverables for Oracle ERP system. Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementations support. Provide orientation and training to end users when required. Maintains system documentation by writing and updating procedures. Protects operations by keeping information confidential. Interfaces with various levels of staff levels with the highest level of professionalism. Troubleshooting application related technical issues and errors. Work directly and actively with software vendors and support groups to debug and resolve issues. Involvement in the software user community to take advantage of knowledge base, software direction and trends. 2. User requirements and technical documentation skills: Ability to provide suggested business process changes which might be instituted in addition to or instead of the proposed user requirement. Ability to research and analyze multiple available commercial software solutions as responses to the business requirement and present those alternatives with criteria for decision. Ability to analyze long term technical and business impact of proposed changes on supported applications. Must maintain documentation related to the work management and user prioritization for supported applications utilizing the methodology and procedures prescribed for use by Enerpac IT. 3. Technical development responsibilities: Ability to conceptualize and create required source code control infrastructure to support an application or development project. Ability to research and analyze multiple available commercial tools and software solutions as responses to IT requirements and present those alternatives with criteria for decision. Ability to participate in development of methodology and procedures for use by Enerpac IT developers. 4. Application configuration responsibilities: Demonstrate and maintain an awareness of the vendor and the vendor’s strategies related to supported commercial applications. Demonstrate an awareness of the commercial software marketplace for those business functions supported. Ability to write application management plans for supported applications, including timing and resources required for upgrades, migrations, or replacement. 5. Professional relationship responsibilities: Must be able to work with database administration, system administration, and help desk personnel to modify or create cross-functional workflows and work structures. Must be able to both formally and informally pull together and facilitate small to midsize teams to accomplish cross-functional tasks. Ability to participate in development of cross-functional methodology and procedures for use by Enerpac IT. 6. Ongoing support and special projects responsibilities: The ability to lead a project development team and manage a small to medium sized development project. Maintain a general awareness of new technology arriving or available in the technology marketplace, and how those technologies might be applied to Enerpac. 7. Work independently yet cohesively with Enerpac’s Oracle Implementation team which is a group of IT and Business core team members to implement end-to-end Oracle eBS business flow functionality like Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Demand-to-Build, Financials, Demantra, WMS, Projects, Project Accounting/Costing, Install base, Time & Labor etc. Required Capabilities: Core Competencies: To hold the position of Senior Application Developer at Enerpac, an individual will be able to demonstrate all of the core competencies required of an Application Developer, and in addition: 1. The ability to code programs as required of an Application Developer: The ability to create high level designs for large software development efforts. Fully comfortable with Oracle AIM methodology and be able to work with MD50, MD70’s and others as it relates to the RICE deliverables. The ability to conceptualize and create a software development environment for a new application conforming to Enerpac IT standards. 2. The ability to seamlessly integrate customizations and extensions as required of an Application Developer: The ability to integrate an entire new application into the environment of users at Enerpac. This includes working with desktop support and other Enerpac IT teams to bring the application into the environment in a manageable and supportable state. 3. The ability to write and maintain reports using appropriate tools as required of an Application Developer: The ability to analyze new tools (reporting and otherwise) for use in improving software development, and the ability to present those for inclusion in the Enerpac IT environment. The ability to work in conjunction with database administration and/or system administration to create new or revised reporting data structures in support of custom development or commercial applications. 4. The ability to perform system analysis as required of an Application Developer: The ability to perform application level system analysis to identify the fit and the gap analysis of an entire application package to a business requirement. The ability to create selection criteria to select among possible alternatives at the application level. The ability to write an application level test plan that will adequately test the application and can also be understood and executed by application users to test the solution. 5. The ability to work independently and or as part of a team as required of an Application Developer: Ability to scope, create plans for, and estimate effort for small to mid-size projects. Must have the ability to mentor junior staff members, provide training and knowledge transfer of core competencies: Knowledge transfer of technical skills, application configuration knowledge, and the environment of the supported application(s) Training in department policies and procedures. Training in Enerpac IT operational and development methodology and procedures. Provide guidance on working effectively with other members of the technical team within applications, database administration, system administration, and the help desk. The ability to formally or informally lead small to mid-size development teams to accomplish small to mid-size projects. Essential Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field. Minimum 10 years of experience with Oracle ERP Should be highly proficient with Oracle Development tools like Forms, Reports, SQL, PL/SQL, XML Publisher reports, Workflow, OAF, Cloud technologies, OIC (Oracle Integration Cloud) etc. Should have fully developed interfaces for various modules of Oracle ERP This position requires 5 plus years of in-depth techno-functional hands-on experience with Oracle EBS core modules like Order Management, Inventory, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Financials etc. This position may require up to 10 percent travel both domestic and international to support project implementations. Oracle Certifications in relevant technologies is a definite plus. Must be able to present solutions and carry on discussions with small or medium sized groups.
