What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: Generally responsible for performing all aspects for complete designs of process engineering assignments. This work will be performed under general supervision.

Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Develop and maintain project documentation, including design specifications and project reports

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers

Ensure that all projects meet regulatory requirements, best practices, and industry standards Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to improve engineering processes and procedures

Provide end user support including: Basic IP.21 user training Development of Reports, support with Excel add-ins, Trend development, development of ASPEN Graphics

Providing data access to relevant systems Modifications to the ASPEN IP.21 configuration, including addition of new tags and modification of existing tags.

Ideal Background

Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Biochemical, or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited university is required.  

Registration: Professional Engineering registration or CPIP certification is highly preferred.

Experience: This position requires 7+ years of relevant industrial experience in chemical, petroleum, or biochemical process design engineering.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of PIMS (Process Information Management Systems) preferably Aspen IP.21

Experience leading engineering projects and initiatives

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Process Controls experience is a plus

Experience integrating PIMS systems with various other OT Systems (ex. Automation / Controls systems).

Experience working with OPC communication is preferred

Experience with SQL+ is preferred support the Implementation, Configuration and Maintenance of Aspen IP.21 Systems, including Life Cycle Management of the PIMS Architecture

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
