Senior Paralegal

In this role as the Senior Paralegal, you will provide comprehensive legal support to the General Counsel and implement and manage a contracts lifecycle management database.

Key responsibilities include conducting in-depth legal research, drafting, and reviewing legal documents, managing complex litigation matters, and implementing a contracts lifecycle management database. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. They must be proficient in legal research, document drafting, and project management. Additionally, experience with database implementation and management is essential.

Essential Functions/Qualifications

The responsibilities of the position include the following:

Comprehensive Legal Support

Conduct in-depth legal research and factual investigation related to complex legal issues.Interview witnessesDraft, review, and edit a variety of legal documents.Maintain case files and docket and deadline management.Extensive document review, including organizing and summarizing documents.Assist attorneys prepare documents and maintain compliance with federal and state securities laws.Other duties and special projects required to help support the Legal DepartmentOccasional administrative dutiesManage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

Contracts Lifecycle Management

Evaluate, implement, and maintain contracts lifecycle management database.Prepare contractual documents, including the preparation of contract terms and conditions, and assemble contract documentation package.Assist business partners with the negotiation and administration of agreements.Review contractual documents to ensure adherence to company policy, contract specifications and requirements, and identify risks and areas of concern on contract terms and conditions.Respond to inquiries regarding contract obligations and revisions.Conduct audits to facilitate company-wide contract compliance.Maintain effective internal and external customer relations.

Education and Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of practical work experience with in-house legal or contracts departments.Completion of an ABA-approved paralegal program or equivalent certification preferred.Excellent knowledge of all Adobe and Microsoft Office applications.Experience with database implementation and management.Ability to travel occasionally for meetings and matter management.

Work Environment and Schedule

This position will begin as a fully remote position, working from Anchorage, Alaska. Upon Silver Bay securing office space, this position will require onsite presence in the Anchorage office. A hybrid work schedule may be available if the candidate can effectively manage the workload. Travel to offsite meetings will occur occasionally throughout the year.

Physical Demands
Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle packages, inventory, and material handling equipment. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, push, twist, and pull. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy, be flexible and stress resistant. The employee will occasionally be required to exercise independent judgment and use discretion. Salary Disclosure The typical base pay range for this role is $102,444 - $119,359 per year. Individual base pay depends on numerous factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
