**Compensation Data**
This position offers a base salary typically between $75,000 and $122,000. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements. **Description**
The Sr.. Paralegal provides support services to litigation department attorneys, internal clients, and external counsel with little to no supervision. In consultation with department attorneys or outside counsel, the level of support includes management and/or coordination of information related to legal issues, performance of legal and factual research, preparation of legal documents and reports, use of computer databases and programs, communication of results to various levels within the organization, and autonomy to lead specific projects as needed. **Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Takes the lead in planning, coordinating, and/or managing information necessary to support legal and business needs, including, inter alia, docket management, evidence gathering, and monitoring case-related information.
+ Conducts complex legal and factual research and interprets and analyzes results. Communicates findings to internal and/or external counsel, administrative agencies, and/or internal business clients in partnership with managing attorney.
+ Takes a lead role in preparing new drafts and filing legal documents, including agreements, affidavits, etc., with commercial, government and/or administrative agencies under attorney signature. Requires knowledge of federal and/or state law, regulations, policies and business in at least two specialized areas such as Transactions, Compliance, Patents, Litigation and Regulatory. Identifies areas of process improvement and/or training and development needs for internal staff and independently prepares and conducts presentations on various legal and/or related topics for internal or external customers. Requires continued education and learning regarding law and rule changes and how these changes affect legal department practice.
+ Maintains electronic databases and physical files according to established procedure and record retention policies, follows departmental guidelines and SOPs, and works efficiently in internal and external systems and databases.
+ Takes the lead role in communicating effectively with internal and external clients and manages partnerships with them to obtain or provide information needed for legal purposes, and/or to identify issues and resolve these issues to meet business needs. Under direction of an attorney, works with client(s) to apply relevant laws and regulations to various sales, marketing, commerical, medical, research and development activities in order to achieve business objectives.
+ Takes a lead role in team collaboration and directs team activities to establish procedure and process based on experience. Applies knowledge and skills to a range of inter- and intradepartmental activities, including legal education and presentation, and serves as a resource to others.
**Requirements**
+ At least 5 to 10 years relevant experience, of which 2 years are healthcare related, that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified in this job profile. Undergraduate degree required. Paralegal certification at an accredited institution preferred.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
+ Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
+ Advanced knowledge of legal research principles, methods, techniques, and resources.
+ Track record of successfully leading teams and overseeing projects.
