KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Emory’s Office of the General Counsel seeks an experienced corporate/transactional paralegal to join our team.

 

Working with the attorneys in Emory’s Office of the General Counsel, the Senior Paralegal will represent Emory University and Emory Healthcare on challenging corporate and transactional matters confronting one of the nation’s premier universities and academic medical centers.

 

Duties will include:

A broad spectrum of contract drafting, editing, and reviewDeveloping, utilizing, and maintaining contract forms, templates, standard clauses, checklists, and guidelinesCreation of charts, graphs and presentationsPolicy drafting and reviewAssistance with various registrations and filingsLegal research, including research of relevant regulatory issuesParticipation in transaction due diligence, review, and schedule preparationSpecial projects, administrative tasks, and additional assignments, as needed.

Work well on a team and with minimal supervisionAre skilled at drafting and reviewing legal documents and conducting legal researchHave strong written and verbal communication skillsHave strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse communityDisplay high levels of emotional intelligence, including kindness, empathy, optimism, and self-awarenessApproach work with a commitment to excellence, intellectual curiosity, a strong work ethic, and integrityHave excellent critical thinking skills, sound judgment and appropriate attention to detailExperience working with academic and/or healthcare entities is a plus. A sense of humor is also valued!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Four years related experience working in a law office, in-house environment, legal setting, or equivalent. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
