Senior Paralegal/Paralegal

Position Description

Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. We own an interest in or operate approximately 82,000 miles of pipelines and 140 terminals. Our pipelines transport natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, carbon dioxide (CO2) and more. Position Description:

 

Provide paralegal support to the Interstate Natural Gas Pipeline Group:

 

Review, edit, cite check, and draft legal documents, including commercial contracts, confidentiality agreements, land-related agreements, and correspondence (with attorney supervision).Conduct legal and general research as assigned.Provide commercial transaction, audit, and regulatory filing support (including SharePoint management, proofreading documents, filings, and agreements, and organizing documents).Assist with tracking Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (“FERC”) and related court proceedings; track, summarize, and organize documents and filings (including comments, responses, testimony, environmental assessments/environmental impact statements, and orders/permits).Undertake due diligence (including corporate records and UCC searches).Special departmental projects as assigned.Position level will be based on the successful candidate’s skills and experience.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as proven organizational and interpersonal skills.Good judgment and analytical skills, with the ability and individual initiative to problem solve and troubleshoot.Ability to set priorities, successfully track and complete multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.Ability to work within cross-functional teams in multiple offices, take direction from multiple supervisors, attend to details, adhere to established work schedule, and follow work rules.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and with Teams, including SharePoint.

 

Education/Training Requirements:

 

High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred.Formal training in a paralegal certificate program or law firm experience highly desirable.Seven to ten years of direct experience as a legal assistant/paralegal in a corporate or transactional area, some familiarity with FERC helpful but not required.
