Senior Patient Account Specialist

Why M Physicians?

The Senior Patient Account Specialist is responsible for interfacing directly with patients, insurance carriers, internal medical personnel, external health care facilities, social service agencies and external collection agencies via phone, mail or in person regarding outstanding patient balances. Researches and resolves concerns related to billing inquiries, patient concerns or complaints with a patient-centered approach by resolving concerns timely and accurately and to promote patient satisfaction and efficient reimbursement.

What you will do as a Senior Patient Account Specialist:Handle incoming customer service calls presented to the self pay phone queue with the ability to answer, resolve and escalate billing questions, concerns or complaintsDetermine patients’ ability to pay by speaking to patients via phone, mail or in person, set up and maintain payment arrangements, educate and prescreen patients for community care and other assistance programs, accept patient payments and ensure they are posted accurately to patients accounts while adhering to PCI StandardsAccurately verify and register active patient insurance information in Flowcast and EPICAudit outstanding self pay balances to ensure all applicable insurances have been billed and have paid or denied invoices appropriately.Handles self pay accounts in a fast paced work environment while keeping errors to a minimum and ensuring accurate and timely account resolution while documenting appropriate account comments and resolutionsReview and refer past due balances to our outside collection agency in accordance with M Physicians procedures and policies

What you will need:High School Diploma or equivalent2+ years experience in insurance, benefits, self-pay, collections or handling complex customer service situationsUnderstanding of insurance eligibility and benefits, including claims submissions and billing guidelinesKnowledge of HIPAA compliance, PCI standardsStrong communication skills, both verbal and written

Location: At this time, this position will be working remote* (MN residents only) *Some in-office time may be required.

Hours: 40 hours/week (Monday-Friday)

Compensation:

21.20 - 30.74 USD Hourly
