The **Senior Patient Care Coordinator/Surgery Scheduler** is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols for the Orthopedic Department. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service, and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical, and service goals.
**Schedule:** Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm PST
**Location(s) for Training:** 904 7th Ave. Seattle, WA (Madison Building) and 3927 Rucker Ave. Everett, WA (Gunderson Building)
**Role Type:** Onsite for training. Following training, opportunity to work remotely with a couple of days required onsite per month.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ First point of contact for our patients for scheduling orthopedic surgery. Sets the tone for a positive experience.
+ Exhibits empathy, courtesy, competence, efficiency and care
+ Schedules all pre- and post-operative appointments. Schedules procedures and surgeries in a hospital setting following standard guidelines.
+ Uses multiple computer and phone scheduling systems to fulfill patient needs and schedule at various hospitals
+ Verifies patient information, while documenting in their Electronic Health Record (EPIC)
+ Advises patients of their responsibilities regarding insurance and referral information
+ Responds to patient MyChart messages and voicemails regarding surgery scheduling within 1 business day

**Required Qualifications:**
+ High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
+ 1+ years of customer service experience
+ 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
+ 6+ months of EMR experience
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ EPIC experience
+ Knowledge/understanding of CPT/ICD-10 coding
+ Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
+ Previous experience in a surgery practice

**Washington Residents Only:** The hourly range for Washington residents is $19.47 to $38.08 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
