Senior Payroll Administrator
Make a difference. As a Payroll Administrator, you will perform a wide variety of record keeping and payroll processing activities to ensure timely and accurate payroll. **In this role you will:** + Prepare and process Company payroll(s); review and ensure accuracy of payments; track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions. + Handle all accounting, payment, and reporting functions associated with the Company’s incentive plans. + Process off-cycle payrolls as necessary for payroll corrections or adjustments; complete on-demand checks including final pay; ensure final pay complies with Company and state requirements. + Analyze, investigate, and correct payroll errors; inspect system output and standard reports to determine and correct out-of-balance conditions; coordinate with Treasury on all voided payments. + Gather payroll data for inclusion in financial statements; perform payroll postings to Financial Accounting and Controlling (FICO), general ledger, and third-party; balance payroll general ledger accounts on the FICO and HR divisions. + Calculate and generate payroll accruals to recognize payroll costs in the month in which they were incurred. + Research and perform queries in SAP; generate financial, statistical, and operational reports (both ad hoc and routine) as assigned. + Perform claims processing; settle employee arrears that are deducted from net pay; set up repayments, Company forgiveness, or prepayments; adjust employee records for end of year reporting. + Create and maintain process documentation. **What you bring to the table:** + 5+ years of experience in Payroll systems or a combination of education and related experience required + 5+ years of progressively responsible payroll tax or accounting experience preferred + Two-year degree with an emphasis in accounting or payroll tax preferred + Knowledge of general accounting methods and techniques + Proficient with Excel and Word + Experience with Workday payroll and/or accounting + Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to area of specialization + Oral and written communication skills + Customer service, mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills + Organization, time management, and prioritization skills + Ability to be detail oriented, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines + Ability to handle confidential information and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of job **Work shift and hours:** + Full-time, hourly, non-exempt + Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm + First 2-4 months onsite training, then hybrid schedule of 3 days in office, 2 remote + Predictable work schedule to plan your life around: no weekends or nights for most roles. + Paid time-off, including 3+ weeks of vacation, sick time, and volunteer time. **Compensation Details:** + The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $25-30 per hour depending on experience. **Why should you join Graybar?** At Graybar, our employees are the heart and soul of our company.
