Senior Payroll Analyst

We are looking for a Senior Payroll Analyst to join our Payroll team in Barcelona. This is an amazing opportunity to work in a global team that is focused on developing the skillset of its team members, whilst ensuring that all Clarivate colleagues are being paid correctly and on time for each pay day. We would love to speak with you if you have expertise in payroll processing in LATAM and Spain and if you are, in general, a results-driven person with good attention to detail.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

Minimum of 5+ years of experience managing payroll in a multi-jurisdictional/global payroll environment, with strong focus on LATAM (particularly Mexico and Brazil) and Spain payroll processing

5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel

Fluency in English and Spanish

It would be great if you also had . . .

Good working knowledge and experience of payroll requirements, legislation and statutory obligations including source tax filings, social security filings, and specific tax rulings in LATAM and preferably Spain.

Knowledge of employment regulations in LATAM and Spain. Experience & basic understanding of accounting, including compensation accounting.

Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and vendors.

Working knowledge of ADP Streamline or other SaaS payroll platforms, and Workday applications.

What will you be doing in this role?

Process payroll and perform employee file maintenance functions for assigned countries with strong focus on Mexico and Brazil, and other selected countries to ensure the accurate and timely payment of wages. 

Payroll inputs compilation, verification of outputs, including benefit deductions, reconciliations, and year end processing.

Responsible for maintaining relationships with outsourced payroll vendors including escalations, compliance issues, audits, and reporting.

Responsible for initiating payments to employees, vendors, tax authorities and social security authorities.

About the Team

The Global Payroll Team consists of 20+ team members, processing payrolls for over 11,000 colleagues in 35 countries, and around 90 entities, and is reporting to the Director of Global Payroll, with this particular role reporting to the Payroll Manager. We are a truly diverse team with team members located in the US, the UK, China, Spain, Serbia, Israel and India.

Hours of Work

Standard Spain working hours; hybrid role based in our Barcelona office 2-3 days per week.
