Senior Payroll Specialist

Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to take over the payroll processing responsibilities for a multi-state payroll operation. This role requires a deep understanding of payroll processes, local tax regulations, and experience with Workday and SAP systems.
As a Payroll Specialist, you will manage the bi-weekly payroll for 200+ employees across multiple states, including MD, DE, PA, NJ, and CT. Ensuring compliance with local tax regulations and legal requirements for all payroll processes is crucial. You will verify payroll reports from SAP with Workday and ensure accurate data entry into SAP. Additionally, you will oversee file integrations and manage benefits data integration from systems like Fidelity and Plan Source into Workday. You will work closely with the finance manager to address discrepancies in the general ledger and ensure accurate financial reporting. Supporting compensation processes and managing HSA, FSA, and 401k funding are also part of the role.
The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of end-to-end payroll experience, strong knowledge of local tax regulations and payroll compliance, and proficiency in Excel, including v-lookups and data manipulation. Experience with Workday payroll system and SAP for processing and reporting is essential. The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, along with excellent communication skills for interacting with global teams and vendors, is required. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are also important.
