Senior Payroll Specialist
Job Title: Payroll Specialist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processes and support HR functions. This role involves processing payroll for employees across multiple states, ensuring compliance with various regulations, and handling payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in payroll management and HR generalist duties, with the ability to navigate complex payroll tax regulations and employee benefits programs. Responsibilities + Process payroll for employees across 15 states for 3 entities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. + Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues promptly. + Manage garnishments, deductions, and other payroll adjustments. + Maintain accurate payroll records and reports. + Prepare and file payroll tax returns, including federal, state, and local taxes. + Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and stay updated on changes in tax laws. + Reconcile payroll tax reports and resolve discrepancies. + Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. + Assist with light employee relations tasks, such as addressing employee concerns and facilitating conflict resolution. + Support the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews. + Conduct new hire orientations and assist with onboarding processes. + Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures. Essential Skills + 4+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience. + 2+ years of ADP experience. + 2+ years of experience with light HR responsibilities, including supporting employee relations and recruiting/onboarding. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations. + Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. + Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. + Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite. Work Environment This role is based out of the Bloomington office with hybrid flexibility. The candidate will be expected to work on-site three days a week, with the option to work from home for the remaining two days. The work environment is dynamic, offering opportunities for project work and process improvements, as the organization has recently undergone significant changes and is bringing multiple functions back in-house. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
