Senior Payroll Tax Specialist

The Senior Payroll Tax Specialist oversees and manages balancing, registration, etc. for a number of FEIN, state, and local tax jurisdictions. This includes complex tax related queries and solutions, as well as administering from a systems perspective.

The incumbent is responsible to ensure adherence to legislation and regulatory compliance as well as Labcorp Global Standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Workday end to end payroll processing experienceTest execution experience, familiarity and ability to navigate throughout WorkdayData entry skill within WorkdayADP SmartCompliance knowledgeUpload tax documents onto SmartCompliance portal (such as agency notifications, POA paperwork, etc)Research and complete Tax Filing RejectionsWork with ADP on correcting Periodic errors/rejects.Complete POA’s when neededResearch, Submit and Balance Amendments as neededWorkday reporting familiarity, payroll controls/validationsBalancing weekly, quarterly and annual tax jurisdiction, processing and filingsWeekly Auditing of tax electionsAuditing payroll processing resultsBalancing W-2'sCreating W-2c'sAnalyze documents.Maintaining logs/recordsMoving money when needed between jurisdictions.Researching inquiriesCompletion of ad hoc projects and tasks, as required.Setting up, updating or closing tax jurisdictions in ADP  Smart ComplianceSetting up, updating or inactivating jurisdictions in WorkdayCommunicate with tax jurisdiction to obtain account numbers needed for state, sui, locals.Responding to HR or employee inquiries on the HR Central portalParticipate in internal and external audits when requested.Perform several advanced excel calculations in order to assist with required balancing after each weekly/biweekly payroll processing to ensure taxation is set up correctly within Workday.

Requirements:

5+ years of payroll experienceExcellent Excel skillsAttention to detail.Systems experience, preferably Workday and ADP SmartComplianceGood time management and prioritization skillsGood verbal and written communication skillsProven payroll experiencePayroll certification is desirable but not required.Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Accounting or equivalent education.

Pay Range: $50,000 - $70,000.00
