Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PCB Layout Developer to provide onsite support for PCB layout development. The successful candidate will work closely with our client team in the medical device space to complete PCB layouts and generate comprehensive output packages. This role involves coordinating tasks between multiple locations, managing program timelines, and consulting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Key Responsibilities:
Component Placement & Design Rules:
Execute component placement and adhere to design rules within the CES environment.
Perform critical component placement of all interfaces and restriction checks.
Power Planes & Signal Routing:
Design and implement power planes, signal routing, and length matching to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Route critical signals and implement signal integrity and power integrity comments.
Manufacturing Preparation:
Conduct manufacturing rule checks and generate manufacturing output files.
Create assembly guidelines, component location files, and manufacturing notes in PDF format.
Generate ODB++ files for PCB fabrication and prepare manufacturing Gerbers.
Thermal & Signal Integrity Analysis:
Perform thermal analysis and update placements as per thermal guidelines.
Update routing as per signal integrity guidelines.
Program Management & Coordination:
Coordinate tasks between US and India teams, manage program timelines, and ensure smooth communication.
Consult as an SME on various aspects of PCB design and implementation.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
Minimum 7 years of experience with PCB layouts.Proven experience in PCB layout design, preferably using Mentor Expedition.
Strong understanding of PCB design principles, including component placement, signal integrity, and DFM considerations.
Familiarity with ODB++ file generation and Valor DFM tools.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
