The Senior People and Culture Communications Specialist will focus on developing and executing strategies and initiatives that strengthen Geotab’s culture, amplifying the expertise and stories of employees to a wide range of audiences, and connecting and engaging Geotabbers across the globe.
What you'll do:
As the Senior Specialist, you will work closely with key business partners and executives across the company to provide best in class advice, program delivery and support. In your role you will both advise at a senior level and execute as they take a proactive approach to content and storytelling, creative thinking and problem solving. The Senior Specialist will also utilize data to inform and guide programs, including continuous improvement efforts and ease of access. Reporting and data storytelling are key to this role. You will work within a collaborative team environment across the Strategic Communications function and will support corporate initiatives including Town Halls, Monthly Newsletters, signature events, and special initiatives.
How you'll make an impactProvide specialized knowledge and expertise related to employee engagement and communications, and content development.
Independently develop strategies and content for use within and external to the organization. This should be well researched and crafted with minimal input from managers or leaders.
Work with a cross-functional team to support the development and execution of a comprehensive annual people and culture communications strategy and plan.
Work independently with executive leaders across the organization to ensure consistent, relevant and timely delivery of all company-wide information.
Collaborate across the organization to inform, test and develop/execute people and culture communications including change management initiatives.
Develop and implement a robust metrics-based measurement program to guide, direct and change activities to maximize impact and benefit to employees.
Review and create employee communications that inspire, inform and contribute to culture building including editor and publisher of internal newsletter; news updates, chat spaces, and similar.
Project management of ongoing review processes addressing effectiveness of employee communications.
Continuous learning of best practice trends to inform and develop effective new ways to engage with impact.
Create and refine monthly reports for the team, executives and awards that help showcase a data driven approach to employee engagement and content development.
Contribute to annual strategic planning and KPA development, advancing the mandate of the department.
Represent the department on company initiatives including change management programs, communication review programs, organizational communications and similar.
What you'll bring to the role5-7 years experience in a communications role, preferably with experience in people and culture communications.
Global experience is an asset.
Bachelors in a related field or Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree.
Diploma/Degree specialization in Public Relations, Communications, Human Resources or Marketing or a related field highly valued.
Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in related field may be substituted
Highly strategic and creative mindset.
High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work well with senior leaders; ability to build credibility and trust for professional knowledge and execution.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Flexible and adaptable, able to embrace and champion change at short notice.
Highly collaborative - works well with teams - an agile mindset and values the success of all team members; team player who is curious and willing to reach out across the organization to understand diverse perspectives and ways to communicate to a wide ranging audience.
Excellent capability to manage confidential material, provide perspective and guide communications, along with inspiring the trust of company leaders.
Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions and manage projects through to completion.
Flexible with an ability to multitask and pivot in light of change or ambiguity.
Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
Experience in building and using dashboards, and data insights to inform and manage communications programs including reporting.
Would benefit from experience using SalesForce Marketing Cloud.
Would benefit from experience using Canva.
