Senior Pharmacy Communications Owner

*This is a hybrid role and will require the ability to work in-person*

Role Description:

This role is responsible for defining and driving Express Scripts Pharmacy communications strategy and initiatives to deliver on communication outcomes for the Patient population.  In this role, the Sr. Advisor will serve as the owner for Patient and Provider communications for specific experiences and related strategic focus on the specific and unique needs of our various delivery channels. 

This position serves as a key resource for management of the communication strategy for Patient communications for the pharmacy.  May serve as primary point of contact regarding projects with communication impact and facilitate activities with functional areas to oversee delivery of products and services to meet client needs.  Responsible for consulting with cross-functional partners on ensuring appropriate delivery of communications, analyzing data to provide content for strategic direction, and managing project plans to execution.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Own the Patient (& some Provider) communication strategy for specific customer experiences along their Express Scripts Pharmacy journey.Translate complex business objectives into effective communication strategies.Successfully drive and implement appropriate actions to define and inform the communication strategy according to established strategic goals.Develop clear, simple and personalized messaging across multiple channels.Identify gaps in systems and processes to help guide overall communication roadmap and help develop a structured process for all Patient communications.Evaluate effectiveness of communication strategies and tactics and drive change.Continually generate ideas and find opportunities to innovate our customer communication experiences - which can include process, medium, tactics, and messagingRepresent Express Scripts Pharmacy across highly matrixed organization in support of work related to the pharmacy communication channels.Responsible for planning and successful execution of large cross-functional projects, which include defining project scope, briefs, deliverables, milestones, timelines, and work plans. Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners to deliver on communication project goals.Prioritize, plan and delegate work as appropriate to ensure effective execution of team/function deliverables.Resolve issues and determine contingency plans and triggers for risks. As needed, escalate issues to appropriate audiences including key business leaders and team members.Utilizes tools to track and monitor the performance/results of prioritized initiatives.Develop periodic and ad hoc reporting to be used for related projects, management reporting, departmental scorecards (when appropriate) and manage distribution across key timelines.

Experience & Qualifications: 

6+ years’ experience in communication strategy development, project management, operational effectiveness or other relevant experience.Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent professional experience.Experience developing effective communication strategy and or communication tactics.Excellent analytic, written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to quickly translate ideas and insights into presentation-ready documentsAbility to work cross-functionally to proactively communicate and to resolve issues with the highest sense of urgency.Able to effectively drive results by fostering collaboration and buy-in.Critical thinker and creative problem solver; seeks perspective from others to inform a unique perspective and able to influence/gain buy-in.Proven sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast paced – ever changing environment.Creative and customer-focused mindset.Resilient and adaptable team player.Able to effectively manage ambiguity and high levels of complexity.


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 107,300 - 178,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
