Senior Philanthropy Officer

Summary:

Gateway Healthcare Inc. includes three affiliates: The Autism Project (TAP) Capital City Community Center and FRIENDS WAY (FW). The development department supports their work through philanthropy efforts in the areas of annual appeals grants events and major gifts.

The Senior Philanthropy Officer (SPO) will be part of a passionate team of professionals who work to improve the lives of people with autism of children and families experiencing grief each day and seniors and families who financially challenged. You must have excellent strategic relationship building and communication skills be a results-oriented professional who can work independently and collaboratively and have a proven track record of securing major gifts. An understanding of best practices in fundraising with the ability to prioritize are key to achieving success. The SPO will work closely with the Executive Directors of TAP FW and Cap City the boards of directors and the staff to develop goals strategies and both long- and short-term plans to organize and implement goals. The primary focus of this position is to develop a major gifts program while mentoring and managing staff and all other aspects of the development program.

Responsibilities:

Creation and Oversight of Department Structure for staffing hiring and management of staff.

Collaboration with administration program staff board of directors in the pursuit of raising awareness of the organization and ensuring the resources for the future.

Development Planning and Implementation necessary to execute annual plans to secure funding from individuals corporations foundations and government agencies with a focus on major gifts.

Major Gift Fundraising identification cultivation solicitation and stewardship in coordination with and supporting the Executive Director.

Event Management including the planning and execution of events with support of the Senior Development Associate role includes the engagement of sponsorship support.

Budget Management for the department.

Creation and Maintenance of a Culture of philanthropy stewardship accountability and trust with donors throughout the organization and community.

Support strategic planning processes providing insight and guidance on development implications for new initiatives.

Develop department policies and procedures.

Work with staff to ensure appropriate reporting for Leadership and Boards.

Attend all events to assist in providing on-site management and supervision of activities.

Occasional evening and weekend hours are required.

Qualification Requirements

Bachelor�s degree

5+ years of related experience

Experience with budget management grant management and all aspects of development

Experience with CRM systems preferably Raisers Edge

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
