National Grid is hiring a Senior Planner for our Coordination and Work Support department in Melville, NY focused on Work Bundling and analytical support across all of New York. 

*Role would be a Planner for external applicants.

Job Purpose

The Senior Planner will help evolve National Grid’s current Work Bundling capabilities by providing robust analysis to articulate and measure operational efficiencies. This role is committed equally to Work Bundling efforts across our New York regions (Long Island, New York City, & Upstate New York) and spans both Customer Meter Services and Maintenance & Construction.

Key Accountabilities

•    Provide quantitative analysis of the financial impact of Work Bundling opportunities across Customer Meter Servicing and Maintenance & Construction 
•    Accurate calculation & reporting of savings at the operating company level, the performing organization level, & project level 
•    Provides frequent qualitative and quantitative department updates to leadership 
•    Responsible for forecasting & maintaining fiscal year savings goals to contribute towards operational excellence metrics and budget challenges 
•    Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stake holders 
•    Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek better ways of planning & scheduling work 
•    Provide technical guidance, support, and coaching to others to share knowledge and develop technical understanding 
 

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Management or related field and/or 5+ years of related work experience. Advance degree preferred.
Prior experience in data mining or analyst role
Knowledge of natural gas system operations is preferred (both Customer Meter Operations and Maintenance & Construction preferred) 
Knowledge of relevant software (e.g. Maximo, Salesforce, CSS, Visio/BlueWorks) is preferred
•    Demonstrates ability to manage competing priorities through effective planning and execution skills 
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills 
•    Strong analytical skills; must be able to provide timely and accurate interpretation of analyses

Salary

$105,000 - $123,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
