The Everett, Washington (WA) is looking for a Senior Planner to join their team.

Responsibilities

Project experiences will be diverse, as we provide services to both the public and private sectors. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of long-range, comprehensive planning experience and possess strong leadership and organizational skills. This position will involve managing client interactions, overseeing tasks, delegating work, and eventually supervising others.

Manage client interactions: Build and maintain strong client relationships, understand their needs, and provide expert adviceManage project, lead tasks, and/or provide strong support for long-range and comprehensive planning projects in compliance with the Growth Management Act (GMA):Manage, lead tasks, and/or provide strong support for code updates focused on development regulationsManage non-project State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) for comprehensive planning and code projectsCoordinate project teams: Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met and coordinate with engineers, architects, and government agenciesDelegate work and provide guidance: Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide support to ensure successful project completionUtilize project management skills to deliver projects on time and budgetSupervise, mentor and oversee the work of less experienced professionals, providing guidance and trainingStay updated on industry trends and regulations, keep abreast of changes in planning law, regulations, and policiesPrepare and present concise reports summarizing planning recommendations and findings for appointed and elected bodiesCollaborate with internal planning team and partners to ensure a coordinated approach to projects Qualifications Degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Urban and Regional Planning (or other degree applicable to the planning field)8+ years experience in long-range, comprehensive planning in Washington, preferably in a consulting or professional services environmentAmerican Institute of Certified Planner (AICP) Licensure PreferredKnowledge of State of Washington land use, zoning, and environmental planning regulations and codesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team membersProven experience in managing client relationships and delivering exceptional customer serviceDemonstrated leadership abilities and the ability to delegate work and provide guidance to othersProficiency in planning software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office SuiteStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutionsStrong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlinesDetail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environmentAbility to work independently and as a team

Salary Range:
