About the Opportunity
 
You will join a project team and report to the Head of Planning, and be responsible at tender stage onwards for the range of planning and scheduling activities involved throughout the project life cycle, which include\:

•    Working with all disciplines to identify planning scope, constraints, and contract requirements including quantities required and other factors affecting the programme.
•    Building the programme from first principles, ensuring that programme content is functionally compliant with the planning procedures and guidance, and contains key methods of construction, sequencing, installation, and commissioning activities.
•    Producing and documenting the planning deliverables including programme copies, basis of schedule, presentations, and reports.
•    Developing integrated programmes, issuing to all parties for review and implementing recommendations, innovation, and best practice as applicable.
•    Reconciling company and sub-contract plant/labour and major materials elements in conjunction where appropriate.
•    Cost and resource loading to support Earned Value Management and resource levelling.
•    Working with the Risk Management team Identifying and applying time risk allowance, terminal float etc in line with the risk identification and management process.
•    Maintaining and updating the programme according to the monthly update and reporting cycle, keeping the client informed of any programme changes, and ensuring on time submission of programmes according to NEC requirements.

•    Experienced user of Primavera P6 across all stages of the project life cycle.
•    Awareness of schedule quality metrics such as DCMA 14-point, and associated tools.
•    Experience of Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis, and associated tools.
•    Substantial experience of projects within the construction industry worth £1m – £100m, with an understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment, and labour requirements relating to building construction, fit out, and building management systems
•    Experience in working with NEC contracts, including strong understanding of the various forms of tender documents, contract documents and specifications.
•    Able to mentor or act as a technical expert within a team of planners at various competency levels.
•    Sole UK National with SC (Security Clearance), or an ability to obtain SC.
•    Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering, construction or project management related discipline.
•    Industry qualifications such as APM.

Any offer of employment will be strictly subject to the relevant security requirements for the role being met. This means that you will need to have, or be able to obtain, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance and either Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. The security clearance process may require non-British nationals or dual nationals (i.e. those with British and another nationality) to be subject to additional evaluation, depending on nationalities held and the nature of the work to be carried out.
